Happy What???

A friend asked me a question the other day. She sees people write Happy New Year’s and Happy New Years, but she thinks the apostrophe and the S are wrong. And she’s right.

Unless you are referring to New Year’s Day or New Year’s Eve, both of which are possessive, you mean only the one New Year. Therefore, I wish you all a very happy, healthy, fulfilling and wonderful New Year!

As always, I welcome all your comments, questions and suggestions. Stay in touch.
